Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile Dysfunction Overview
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) or impotence is a condition where a man cannot keep an erection long enough to perform sexual intercourse, or get an erection at all. Erectile dysfunction is a fairly common condition that can affect men of any age, although is more common in men above fifty.
Impotence used to be thought of as a natural occurrence in older men, a psychological issue, or just part of growing old. Studies now show that while it can be caused by stress and psychological problems, people with ED often have an underlining issue causing their condition such as heart disease, low blood pressure, or even Parkinson’s disease to name only a few.
There have been many new breakthroughs in treating erectile dysfunction in recent years, so although embarrassing, coupled with the fact there could be another issue at hand, it’s important to talk to your doctor about your condition.
